Beer can be good for you

If you are thinking red wine can have certain health problem, then you are absolutely wrong. In fact red wines have some good benefits that we know for quite some time now. Do you ever think about a cold glass of beer with your dinner? There is plenty of evidence from some recent studies, that beer may be good for you; there is no harm at all.

When you consumed beer in moderation just like wine, it may have certain health benefits. It is fact that both of them contain alcohol and there is plenty of evidence to suggest that moderate alcohol consumption can be beneficial to your health. Moreover it has been associated with higher HDL cholesterol which is a good type of cholesterol for your body that you want. Moderate alcohol consumers also have less fibrinogen which can cause clotting that can lead to thrombosis and stroke.

According to the studies of Institute of Epidemiology at the University of Muenster, it has been suggested that moderate beer drinking can help reduce coronary disease. It can reduce the risk of hardening of the arteries because alcohol tends to lower your income level. The benefits of drinking beer accent beyond the benefits that you get from alcohol. You may gain 30% more vitamin B in your system by drinking beer and only 15% in wine- a study by the Dutch TNO Nutrition and Food Research Institute. According to the study of Tufts University, beer consumption can help to preserve bone mineral density. And Harvard University published a study In the New England Journal of Medicine citing that moderate consumption of beer helped preserve mental abilities in older women.

In 2001, the European Journal of clinical nutrition reported that beer drinking had good effects on foliate levels which are thought to help fight cardiovascular disease. Women who are pregnant or nursing should not drink alcohol as this can be harmful to the fetus or newborn. Beer has about 150 to 450 calories per glass depending on which kind you drink so drinking a lot of may cause weight gain.

However limit is the matter and excessive can be hazardous. So if you are beer drinker it’s probably best to limit yourself to one or two classes per day considering your health benefits. Just like wine, there are many interesting varieties that you can try out and you’re sure to find something that will please your palate as well as improve your health.
