Italian red wines are world famous commonly known as Italian reds. As compared to red wines produced in other parts of the world, they stand apart due to their tarter taste, higher acidity, and aroma.

Italian red wines are not named after the grapes used for making them; instead they are named after regions in which they are produced in fact not like French wines. There are different varieties of grapes used in Italian red wine. You may not get all these varieties in any other part of the world.

Italian red wines are not preferred for simple sipping due to their sharper taste. In fact a bottle of red wine is a perfect companion during a meal. There are some well-known red wines like Valpolicella, Chianti, Barolo and Merlot.

A beautiful name given after a famous wine-producing region in Italy was Valpolicella. Rondinella, Corvina and Molinara are the three different varieties of grapes which are blended together to produce excellent red wine in this region. Valpolicella is a relatively lighter wine. Even Chianti is considered to be a perfect companion of an Italian meal. It is produced in a region of the same name.

There is another impressive red wine produced in the region having the same name is Barolo. Barolo is made from a single variety of grape called Nebbiolo which is not like the Chianti and Valpolicella. Since ten years, Barolo has a distinct aroma of roses, raspberries and earth.

If you want do a trick you need to prefer a simple Italian wine. A number of great Italian red wines are also produced from the region of Tuscany. Some Italian red wines could cost you a fortune, but many of them are quite affordable. You can also get these Italian red wines from online stores and even from exclusive outlets or any of the stores.
